5th cast – bam – steelhead on the Deschutes. Thanks Amy at Deschutes Angler – every time you sell me a new set up – i hook a steelhead on the fly the next day (2 for 2). Amy put me into an Echo 12.6 ft 6 weight with a Lamson reel … and this line. It’s a nice set up and it’s a heck of a lot of fun spay casting on the Deschutes instead of a single hand rig (8 wt Sage – my elbow is killing me after four days). Anywho … good luck … when you hit the Deschutes in Oregon … go through Maupin and visit Deschutes Angler Fly Shop. Their selection is second to none … and ZERO TAX as there’s no state sales tax in Oregon.
