   My friend and I have been testing just about anything and everything shooting line related from many different manufacturers. So far my personal preference for all around casting has been this Scientific Anglers braided mono.

   I like the supple nature of the line with minimal tangling (All lines will tangle) . If you do get a tangle and the line should knot up it wasn’t a big deal ! The nicest surprise was that the line seemed to have no memory after untying the knot and a gentle stretch! Try that with any other mono type line and there will be a permanent kink.

   There are only a couple of downsides so far. The line casts initially out through the guides at a rapid rate and then as it neared a certain point it markedly started to decelerate. I wasn’t sure that it was the nature of the rougher texture of the line, how I was pointing the rod during its trajectory, or the rod guides. My only test was to try another new rod of similar weight and results seemed to be the same.

   If the line could be manufactured in such a way as to maintain the same line strength but reduce the line diameter a couple of thousandths of an inch then maybe the distance would match some of the other lines tested so far. With that said though I wouldn’t hesitate buying one of these lines. The good traits of manageability and not having a permanent kink if it does get a knot puts this line at the top of my list so far!
