Freshwater Tapered Leader

Absolute Stealth Finesse Leaders are colored in an olive tint to reduce line flash when stalking ultra-wary fish. The Stealth Finesse Leaders excel at slack-line presentations and long, drag-free drifts.

Absolute leaders are made with proprietary copolymer blends that are designed to drastically reduce water absorption while maintaining an optimal suppleness for high knot strength. Absolute nylon leaders and tippet have a 29% higher wet knot strength compared to our previous material and up to 40% higher wet knot strength when compared to our competitors. Our new paper-based leader packaging is now 100% recyclable. All materials, inks, and window are fully biodegradable to protect our streams and reduce our environmental footprint. I rely on hand-tied knotted leaders of my own making, taken from the famous George Harvey dry fly leader that lands on the water in s-curves in order to delay drag. This spring, a friend, knowing how I like my fishing leaders to perfrom, sent me a few of the new Trout-Stealth Finesse leaders, mentioning that the formula is configured to land on the water’s surface with a measure of slack to delay drag. To my surprise the Finesse leaders performed as advertised. Unlike my knotted leaders, the Finesse didn’t need require that I bounce-cast to result in the necessary slack. Sure I had to mend and make aerial mends. But I did discover that I could make superior dry fly presentations with, yes, Finesse, Sci-Angler’s new leader.
